Farmstead Brewery

Craft ales brewed with our own hops and the pure water of Vermont's mountains

Our Brewery Vision

The brewery represents the culmination of our farm's integrated approach, bringing together multiple elements of our operation into craft beverages that truly express the character of our land and our values.

Currently in development and planned for launch in Year 3 of our business plan, our small-scale farmstead brewery will focus on high-quality ales made with ingredients grown on our property—including our own hops, honey, maple syrup, and seasonal fruits and herbs.

This element of our farm is a passion project for both John and our eldest son Alex, who at 16 is already developing recipes and learning the craft of brewing alongside his father. Together, they're creating distinctive beers that showcase the flavors of Vermont.

Our Brewing Philosophy

Farm to Glass

We believe that great beer begins in the field. By growing many of our own ingredients, we have control over quality from soil to glass. This approach allows us to create beers with a true sense of place—beverages that could only come from our specific piece of Vermont.

Our one-acre hop yard features varieties selected specifically for our climate and soil conditions, and we grow herbs and specialty ingredients in our gardens to create unique seasonal offerings.

Small Batch Craft

Our small production scale allows us to focus on quality over quantity. Each batch receives personal attention from mash to packaging, ensuring consistency and excellence in every pour.

This approach also gives us the flexibility to experiment with seasonal ingredients and limited releases, keeping our offerings fresh and exciting throughout the year.

Community Focus

Our brewery will serve as a gathering place for the community, with a small tasting room overlooking the farm where visitors can enjoy our beers in the environment that inspired them.

We plan to host educational events about brewing, agriculture, and sustainability, fostering connections between people and the land that sustains us all. The brewery will complement our other farm enterprises, creating a complete farm-to-table experience.
